Photograph, Christopher Stratton with his Brother and Mother
The inscription on the back of the photograph indicates that it is of Chris Stratton, his brother Bill and his mother. This is most likely Christopher John Stratton, 1862-1906. His mother Johanna (née Bentley), widowed in 1863, married Archibald Ferguson shortly afterwards, and the "brother" is likely to be Archibald's and Johanna's son William John Ferguson, born 1866. Chris Stratton also had a son named William John, born 1894.Sepia photograph which shows a woman seated between two men outside a cottage, which has a front verandah, chimney, and a rough paling fence at the front.Inscription on reverse of the original photograph: "Mr Chris Stratton relatives / Christopher Stratton / Father of William / Stratton".
