Grip car or dummy has remnants of paint (green and gold) on the sides, holes for wheels on the two wood blocks on the underside. Has an eye hook at one end and a hole for another at the other end. Seat made from timber with a steel wire or rod to represent a grip lever. Metal secured to wood base with nails. Has four metal Staunchions on either side. Trailer similar construction with sides stamped or cut from sheet steel with holes at either end for a eye or hook and wheels. Roof on both items has been pressed and assembled. The Northern District School of Nursing opened in 1950 to address the issues around nurse recruitment, training and education that had previously been hospital based. The residential school was to provide theoretical and in-house education and practical training over three years. The students would also receive practical hands-on training in the wards of associated hospitals. The Northern District School of Nursing operated from Lister House, Rowan Street, Bendigo. After a 4year struggle immediately following the ousting of the Japanese in 1945, Indonesia officially gained independence from The Netherlands in 1949. Small Indonesian fan produced for the 50th anniversary of Tempo Doeloe in Australia. The fan is made in a similar manner to the so-called Wayang dolls and is reminiscent of this aspect of traditional Indonesian culture.An orange central patch bears the words: Tempo Doeloe 1945-1995 Indonesia - Australia.

Mrs Sairey Gamp - English Monasteries declined in 1405 the Chruch was said to have one third of English's wealth. Henry VIII dissolved the Monasteries despite their record of charitable and medical work and took over most of their property. This left large numbers of helpless sick and poor to die. In approximately 1934 Beryl Jacquier (nee Keenan) was given this pram. The pram was purchased in Melbourne and picked up by Beryl's uncle who brought it by train to Seville Station (in Killara). Beryl's mother, Una Keenan, was the post-mistress who operated the post office from her home which was next to the station. When Beryl grew up and left home she and Una would write letters to each other every day so that there was always something in the mailbag for Una to process.Cream painted wooden dolls pram with sprung metal frame, black metal wheels and handle. Photos the 10th Annual Art and Craft Exhibition that was run by the Widows' Club. The label identifies Marianne Spruyt from Guterman Craft as the judge that year. The items could be sold at trading tables and at the table outside Legacy House during Badge Week in September to raise funds. The label mentions the Widows' Club made a donation each year to Legacy. The photos were taken by Susie Howard the publicity officer. These photos were in a scrapbook of A record of the type of activities Legacy provided as a social outlet for widows.
