Descendents of early Kilmore pioneering business families, the Morrisseys and Hartnells.Greenish paper on board cover with colour plate pasted to front. Missing dust jacket.Wear to extremities, particularly spine. Small pink marks to lower front cover, ink stain right sied front cover.Evidence of previous hinge repair front and back. Slightly ragged appearance to page edges. Foxing to end papers. Binding tight. Seven colour plates all present and in good condition. This work is a large structure of stones, a cairn. It is constructed using volcanic rock from the area and has a number of metal plaques set into the sides of the rock structure. On one plaque the wording reads “Remnant Bush”, another says “Urban Push” and the third plaque reads “Machine Axe & Fire”.

On December 17,2007 the Carols by Candlelight launch was held in the City Square. With music by John Foreman, the McClymont sisters, Anthony Callea, Australia Girls Choir and others, Santa and live crosses from Channel 9 weatherman Steve Jacobs, there was much for attendees and passers by to be entertained by. Framed portrait of William Quayle who was President of the Association for Advancement of the Blind in 1905. It is part of a series of paintings commissioned by the VAF Board to commemorate the work of past presidents of the organisation. Mr Quayle sits on a wooden chair, wearing a gray three piece suit, white shirt and black bowtie. A small pink flower sits in his lapel and the chain from a fob watch is tucked into his waistcoat. Mr Quayle was born on the Isle of Mann, and the Manx Society of Victoria made a donation towards this painting, which was unveiled by his granddaughter.
