The grant, made through the Home and Community Care Program, will enable Ringwood to establish its own Meals on Wheels kitchen later this year. Ringwood had bought meals from Nunawading for many years, but Nunawading kitchen facilities were no longer able to cope with the demand. -

Apart from the increase in reported assaults, overall crime reports in May were down by 83 on the same time last year. Ringwood CIB Senior Sergeant Jenny O'Toole said publicity, co-operation from the public and increased patrols by uniform and bicycle police were heloping to reduce the number of burglaries.
