His ‘embarkation’ photographs are a major asset of the Australian War Memorial’s Collection. The Society also owns original copies of a number of his photos, including numerous mayoral and civic photos. In 2014, the Society mounted a major exhibition of his photos, a number of which were sourced from his descendants. The file includes two CD-ROMs of these images. There are also two copies of an article by D. Darbyshire - ‘Diggers at Sea’, originally published in the Port of Melbourne Quarterly. Some of the magic lantern slides were donated to the City of Melbourne by former student, Lex Nieboer (1975). The remainder still in his possession at the time, subsequently donated to The University of Melbourne, Burnley Archives. He found them in a storeroom at Burnley in 1975.
