Date of photo on folder - 26/9/1962?? or 1 Jan 1963. A date on the front of the folder of 1/12/1959 is too early - tram has been painted with tiger stripes and fitted with dash canopy lighting. Skittles was a game of European origin maybe as early as the 4th or 5th century and became popular in England in the 14th century. Many Bendigo hotels included Skittle Alley's and some early mentions of these include Epsom in 1856. Teams could even play for monetary prizes. Although generally considered an indoor game, skittles also made appearances at outings such as picnics and race meetings.2 Wooden skittles with knob at the top.
