Men (four) wear dinner suits (white ties and tails) and are holding monkey masks to resemble the :Monkey Brand: appliance cleaning product they are advertising or using in a theatrical performance. The four women wear black, knee length dresses and are dressed as maids, with white 1/2 length aprons and white caps. They have the 'Monkey Brand' advertisement pinned onto their aprons and are holding another cardboard ad. (the same one) suspended from a block. Four clean saucepans on floor at men's feet. Dates of information from 2.11.1902 to 1914, Example of information: Manager's Report 11.1.1912. 'Rope on south drum broke last Saturday, it broke about 100 feet from the surface when the cage was at 2100 feet. No damage done to cage or shaft. We have got the rope out of the shaft abnd started baling. Will have the water out and resume sinking the shaft Saturday morning. Two copies a typed letter with printed letterhead, dated March 7, 1938. Letter is from ? Moody of Moody's Dye Works Ltd. To Scalebuoys (N. Z.) Ltd. He mentions since using the Scalebuoy soap is more readily and completely removed from goods that have to be wet cleaned and also gives better penetration for dyeing. He also mentions that the boiler was in better condition and they have stopped using the compound they were using. Machine - BABY DAISY: HAND OPERATED BELLOWS VACUUM CLEANE
Hand operated Bellows vacuum cleaner. Previously #27 The “Baby Daisy” Vacuum Cleaner is constructed from timber, steel and leather bellows. It has a carry handle fixed to the top. The base is approx. 500mm x 250mm. The height is approx 400mm. On one side is a bracket for a handle (missing) used to operate the bellows. The device is mounted on a foot plate that is split. On one side of the bellows is a circular metal detachable hatch, fixed by wing-nuts. This has a central hole for a tube (missing). Attached internally to this hatch is a cloth dust collection bag. The metal hatch has the following moulded words arranged in a circular fashion. 'DAISY Vacuum Cleaner). There are two brass plates fixed to the side of the cleaner above the hatch. These plates are stamped with 'Rd. No. 518080 and Rd. No. 530353' Gold printed Labels on the side say the following. BABY DAISER Vacuum Cleaner. Registered England. No. 518080/7 No. 530353/08 Trade Mark No.294851 /07 Designs France No. 25469/08 Germany No. 330219 / 08 Further Patents applied for. In the centre of the label is a picture of a Daisy Flower.
