Doll, whose name was Janet was given to Rosalie Schwerkolt Whalen as a child in 1945 with a lemon voile dress and matching bonnet and a patterned voile dress.Baby doll bought to Rosalie Schwerkolt by Santa Claus in 1945. The doll has a cloth body with a composition hard material for head, arms and hands and legs and feet. Face has blue eyes that close and red lips slightly parted to show teeth. Moulded brown curls for hair. Formerly a crying doll - mechanism under material on back and isn't working. A pair of pale blue and pink elastic edging. This is believed to be a figurine of Queen Victoria. Staffordshire pottery began to be produced in the 1840s, at the beginning of the reign of Queen Victoria, and the Queen and her family were popular subjects for depiction in pottery.Painted ceramic figurine of a woman holding a baby. The woman is wearing a dark blue dress with gold lapels and a white frilled collar, and a decorative gold pattern at the hem. The woman is also wearing a white bonnet with gold bow at the top and a red flower at the front, white gloves, and yellow slippers. The woman has short, dark coloured hair visible beneath the bonnet, and rosy cheeks. She is seated on a stool and cushion, and is holding a baby on her knee. The baby is dressed in a long white gown, with a hood. Sticker beneath the base of the statue carries the handwritten number '44'. -

The circular crown is knitted in garter stitch, and as the circle increases in size, a "spoked" effect where the increase is made, gives a wheel-like effect. The main part of the bonnet has a repeat of a six row pattern. The front band of the bonnet, framing the face, is 2 cm wide, knitted in garter stitch.
