Domestic object - Pudding Steamer
This type of mould was commonly used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for baking steamed puddings or cakes. The central hole allows for even heat distribution. Such moulds were popular in European and Australian kitchens for making traditional desserts like steamed Christmas pudding or gelatine-based dishes. The wear and patina suggest it was well-used, likely in a domestic setting. The item is a two-piece metal baking mould, possibly a vintage pudding or cake mould. The top half is domed with vertical ridges and a central hole, resembling a Bundt or pudding mould. The bottom half is a flat circular base with slightly raised edges. The mould has small loops on the sides, likely for securing the two halves together. The surface shows signs of aging, including discoloration and wear.pudding, steamer, cooking, baking, kitchen, food, household item -

Wooden Spoon
... cakes ...Used for stirring a multitude of kitchen produced food, especially jam, scones, cakes, and soup. Also used by the mother as a threat to naughty children. The word spoon derives from an ancient word meaning a chip of wood or horn carved from a larger piece.[1] Wooden spoons were easy to carve and thus inexpensive, making them common throughout history. Wooden spoons have been made in virtually every nation on earth and (compared to silver or pewter or gold spoons) represent the ordinary artisan and reflect the life of ordinary folk: this is their "folk art". Source: www.wikipedia.org An essential item found in the kitchen. One piece wooden spoon. Domestic object - Dish
The development of bronze and iron metalworking skills allowed for cookware made from metal to be manufactured, although adoption of the new cookware was slow due to the much higher cost. After the development of metal cookware there was little new development in cookware, with the standard medieval kitchen utilising a cauldron and a shallow earthenware pan for most cooking tasks, with a spit employed for roasting. By the 17th century, it was common for a Western kitchen to contain a number of skillets, baking pans, a kettle and several pots, along with a variety of pot hooks and trivets. Brass or copper vessels were common in Asia and Europe, whilst iron pots were common in the American colonies. Improvements in metallurgy during the 19th and 20th centuries allowed for pots and pans from metals such as steel, stainless steel and aluminium to be economically produced. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookware_and_bakewareThis item is significant as an example of an item in common use in the kitchen in the second half of the 19th Century, and thereafter.Metal oval cake/pie dish.
