"Man in doorway with arms folded is George Fraser Snr, father of Norman Fraser. The manager Peter Hodgetts, seated on top of tram, lived at 1163 Gregory St. Company had 13 cottages for employees building along south side of Gregory St. The Frasers lived next door to the sheds. Norman Fraser remembers a horse named Nobby which could not be shod unless its legs were tied. Big George Barnett did the job. He is pictured standing in from of Mr Fraser Senior along with blacksmiths Moyce and Lang. The drivers were Nicholls, Gaston, Buckley, big George Armstrong (lying on the ground) and John Cameron. A postcard in a series produced by the Rose Stereograph Company in Victoria, Australia as a souvenir of Marysville.A black and white photograph of the Cora Lynn Falls which are in Cambarville. These falls are located on the Marysville-Wood's Point Road. Cambarville is notable for its giant mountain ash (Eucalyptus regnans) trees within the Cumberland Memorial Scenic Reserve, and relics from former sawmills and gold mining. The Big Culvert is located nearby on the Marysville - Woods Point Road, which was historically part of the Yarra Track. Cambarville was established as a timber mill town in the 1940s. Timber mill owners A Cameron and FJ Barton named Cambarville. They established the mill to salvage timber from trees destroyed in the 1939 bushfires. Cambarville was impacted by the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires and any remaining structures were destroyed. Photograph - Army Survey Regiment Mount Macedon Memorial Cross Ceremony, 1995
This set of six colour photographs of a Catafalque Party from the Army Survey Regiment was taken at the Mount Macedon Memorial Cross on the 19th of November 1995. The ceremony was held to commemorate the 60th anniversary and the refurbishment of the site. The refurbishment entailed the complete replacement of the cross and its surrounds. The cross is also known as the Cameron Memorial Cross and was built in 1935 as a memorial for those who lost their lives in the First World War. The Guest Speaker was Mr Bruce Ruxton AM MBE OBE, who at the time was the president of the Victorian RSL. He served in the 2/1st Australian Topographical Survey Company in WW2 before reallocation to the 2/25th Australian Infantry Battalion. He was the president of the Victorian RSL from 1979 to 2002 and was a staunch vocal advocate for the health and welfare of war veterans and their families. Set of two reports regarding the difficulties of leasing the former MMTB head office building at 673 Bourke St following the move into the Little Collins Street building in 1936. .1 - Six page typed, part carbon copy, report (note the fist page has the carbon copy of another page in the report on the rear) Notes the extensive discussions with the Post Masters General Department, problems with discussions with the Board's agent, Mr. J. G. Membrey, possible sale of the building, issues within the PMG over leasing buildings, discussions with Bushell's Tea Company, lease to the RSL, then the RSSILA, through a Mr Bett, who then was in talks with the PMG to sub-lease the building, discussions with the Chairman, Mr. Cameron, which occurred. What a mess! .2 - two page carbon copy of report from Mr. J. G. Membrey to the MMTB discussion the issues with the lease, PMG, Mr. Bell and part occupied by the Radio Times.
