These are known as "gadgetbahns" mooted proposals that seldom come to commercial fruition. His main emphasis was on the future all-electric tram fleet that was proposed for Melbourne. Dating the photo: James Nelson, whose premises are shown next to the hotel, took over his family's carpentery and undertaking business in 1901. The original hotel was a timber structure or structures.
