This franking machine was used in the mail room of SMB and also in the mail room at University of Ballarat. Pitney Bowes is a global technical company, known for its postage meters and other mailing equipment and services. It was founded in 1920 when the company of Arthur Pitney, founded in 1902, merged with the company of Walter Bowes, founded in 1908. The name at merger became Pitney Bowes Postage Meter Company. The pre-printed sheet of paper acts as the rear of the postcard for mailing purposes, providing a stamp location, address and writing area. Only known photograph of this type of tramcar.Stereo pair of photos, black and white, of a 7 window horse tram in Wendouree Parade, possibly near Windmill Drive, Nth end, mounted on heavy card. Photographed and published by Geo Rose. Has many lady passengers on the top deck of the tramcar. Tram has the destination of "Boatsheds". Possibly around 1900.
