Thomas Jefferson Connelly played an important role in role in seeking support for the movement towards federation of the Australian colonies. Connelly was the first Bendigo born Mayor of Bendigo, and the youngest Mayor of Bendigo. He died in 1892 aged just 34. He attended St Liborius Catholic Primary School in Eaglehawk from 1920 to 1928. The tape has been converted to a sound file.
