Form used to provide information to the depot about defective trams when motormen signed off at the depot. Thought to be used in final months of the tramway system. Also used by Ray Hall as a sheet of paper to write out the details of No. 9 run for Sundays as a reference document.Duplicated typed form, S.163, titled "Sign off cars at Depot - Weekdays", for signing off defects in trams that Motorman signed off when signing off at the Depot in Wendouree Parade. Form made out for weekdays, has date/time in top right hand corner. Has Run Number and Time in pre-printed, then space for car number, defects, motorman's signature, repairs made and Foreman's Signature. Some runs detailed twice. Model - model tramcar - Representational of a Melbourne W2
This is a small commercially made tram model. Its design appears to be very loosely based on a Melbourne W Class tram design. The motorman’s cabin is realistic, but the body with its centre doorway does not look like any known tram designs. The wheels and their arrangement at the very ends of the tram are not realistic at all. No details of the maker, or where or when the model was made. Union badge that belonged to Victorian Railways tram motorman Norman Charles Boucher - see item 7056 for biography. VR Tram crews were members of the Australian Railways Union Tramway Division. The ARU was formed in 1920 and merging with other rail and public transport unions to form the RTBU in 1993. The manufacturer's name obscurred - possibly Treloar of Sydney.Demonstrates an ARU badge.badge - brass, pressed and formed for use in a button hole. Dark and light blue enamel with a silver surround.
