Uner Aktiebolag, Sodra Stromsgatan 30, Norrkoping printed in purple ink, obscures the rest of the address. Twenty page book including paper covers titled "Australia's First Electric Tram" written by John Kinmont Moir and published by Traction Publications, second edition, 1950. The story of the Doncaster and Box Hill Electric Road (tramway). Publishers Note on page 3 that the first edition of the book was published by Mr. Moir at his own expense - this edition is a reproduction of the first and uses some of the printing blocks. Red covers, poster advertising the tramway, a map, foreword written by J.K. Moir about Mr. H. J. Hilton who operated the tramway, the birth of the tramway, the company that was formed to operate it, , a sample ticket, opening, operation, timetable, reminiscences of H. J. Hilton. The Ballarat Catholic Young Men's Society was established on 01 August 1892. This is the organisation's first minute book. Rev. Dr Delaney advocated for the formation of the Ballarat Catholic Young Men's Society. Curtin and Scullin became members of this organisation, and it is where they learnt to debate. William White was one of the founders of the Hibernian Society. 09 August 1893 - Richard Sutton provided a piano for recital by Mr Bailey. Brown hard covered minute book with red spine. It is the first book of the Ballarat Catholic Young Men's Society. The minutes are handwritten in ink. "Miss Hook of Holland" is a musical comedy (described as a "Dutch Musical Incident") in two acts, with music and lyrics by Paul Rubens and book by Austen Hurgon and Rubens. It opened at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London, on 31 January 1907, and had a successful run of 462 performances. A synopsis of the plot can be found at https://www.guidetomusicaltheatre.com/shows_m/miss_hook_holland.htm This was one of a number of productions of the Surrey Hills Amateur Operatic Society during the 1930s. The society formed in 1931 and its first production was "The Cingalee", followed in 1932 by "The Arcadians". Other productions were "Princess Ju-Ju", "The Quaker Girl", "The Hook of Holland" and "The Country Girl". Apart its cultural and social importance, the aim of the Society was to raise funds for charity. Mrs Constance Clucas was a driving force behind the productions. A comprehensive account of the society's activities is found in 'A history of Surrey Hills' Sporting clubs and Cultural Groups" by Ken James. This and other programs of the Surrey Hills Amateur Operatic Society provide insight into the cultural life of Surrey Hills in the 1930s.Cream-coloured stapled program printed in brown of a musical comedy in 2 acts.
