John Meikeljohn was born in 1841 in Glasgow. He was educated at Glasgow University and U. P. Theological Hall and ordained at the Glasgow City Mission in 1872. His ministries included: 1874 Kirkmairhill U. O. Lankashire; 1888 south Melbourne Dorcas St.. In 1901 he became the first Moderator General for the Assembly of Australia and was the first Principal Emmnauel College Brisbane. The Rev Dr Meikelijohn died on 28/09/1915.Sepia toned studio portrait tipped on to textured beige coloured cardboard of Rev. Dr. John Meikeljohn who dressed in his formal attire of a moderator general.
