Hung in the public bar of the Rose and Crown Hotel in Bay Street soon after the 2nd World War until major renovations were carried out in aprrox 1986/7. It was then returned or donated to the Port Melbourne Sub-Branch of the RSL, but due to diminishing membership they soon donated it to the PMCC for safe keeping or display. Obtained from grounds of former Temperance Hall, Nott and Liardet Streets. Found when renovations/extensions were being made by PMCC in 1990. The stone was laid on 24 May 1890 by James Munro MLA who was a leading temperance advocate.Two pieces of commemorative stone which was originally in wall of Temperance Hall.'
