Currency - Military Payment Certificates
Military Payment Certificates (MPC) were an accepted form of payment on military bases but could generally not be used to buy local goods or services. When American officials believed that a series of MPC was being used fraudulently on the black market, a new series would be released, making the previous version worthless. Only those authorised to have MPC on a Conversion Day were able to convert them to the newly issued notes. Five Military payment certificates.
