The medal was created for sale to the public to raise funds for the provision of troop comforts material.Medallion distributed during World War 1 by the South Australia Division of the Australian Comforts Fund. This medallion was apparently used for fund raising by the ACF to support the welfare of Australian service personnel. The medallion is 52mm diameter by 5mm thick and is made from copper. The medallion has a swivel and a loop at the top for attaching a chain or ribbon. Mintage total not known. The Reverse side of the medallion is embossed with the words "New Guinea", "Egypt", "Gallipoli", "France", "Palestine", "Salonika" and "Mesopotamia" within an olive wreath. The obverse side of the medallion has an embossed image of the head and shoulders of an Australian soldier wearing a slouch hat and carrying a rifle at the high port position. The edge of the medallion is stamped "Australian Comforts Fund SA Division". Standard issue United States M1 pattern steel helmet, olive drab in colou, stretch cotton cargo type net, with fibreglass liner. On the inside of a strap in the liner '8415-153-6671' is printed in black ink. This number would appear to be the "Federal Stock Number (FSN)" which was used 1949 to 1975 when ti was replaced by "National Stock Number (NSN)' by additional of 00 after the first 4 numbers. this would indicate that it was made in USA. The chin strap and liner are both complete and fully operable. These helmets were first issued in 1941 to the United States Armed Forces. They were adopted after the Korean War by the Australian Defence Force. In the 1990s they were replaced by the Kevlar based Personnel Armour System-Ground Troop (PASGT) type helmet. However, as evidenced by this helmet, some M1 Steel helmets were not replaced in-service by the PASGT helmet and survived into the early 21st Century. Used by Royal Australian Army in Vietnam in areas where mines were significnat, such as Long Hai's mountains (together with US flak jackets), and also by Royal Australain Navy.An example of an Australian Army issue M1 steel battle helmet complete with fibreglass liner. This helmet type was issued to Australian defence personnel during the Vietnam conflict. The inner line has a transfer on the front " Australian Military Forces" with rising sun badge. The steel outer has an olive green elastic cover (similiar to cargo net) to hold camouflage material. Helmet covers and netting would be applied by covering the steel shell with the extra material tucked inside the shell and secured by inserting the liner. This type of cap is a personal purchase for 'wearing out' and is known to sailor's as a "tiddly" hat. The hat has internal red (for Port) and green (for Starboard) lining bands.embroidered with the inscription : "H. M. A. S. BRISBANE" and the name "MAWBY D. A." and "DALE MAWBY" written inside.

Standard WW2 era Australian Army issue, pattern 1937 equipment pack made of heavy weight cotton webbing material in the standard khaki colour. This pack was carried on the wearer's back, supported by two straps worn over the shoulder. These packs were used by military personnel to carry personal equipment items whilst in the field. This pack type is square in shape and has additional straps for attaching to webbing. The front of the pack has 'NX 83432 G Siddaway' written in black. Donated by Frank Verco service number R62418, who enlisted in the RAN as a young man. Frank was posted to the HMAS Voyager and was on board when the ship was involved in an accident which resulted in it's sinking in February 1964. Fortunately Frank was uninjured, he was in the bow area of the ship at the time of the accident Frank and went down with that section of the ship. Frank later served on the HMAS Sydney ferrying troops to Vietnam. A small flag taken from an Indonesian Sergeant during the Malaysian Indonesian 'confrontation' in 1965. The flag was taken by an Australian, N Lloyd. The flag is a small banner style with tapes on the masthead side for attachment. The flag is made from a linen material. The uper half of the flag is red and the lower half white. There are three, five pointed, white stars on the right hand half of the flag.
