Slide - set of 4 - 35mm - Kodachrome cardboard mounts. .1 - Tram 808 at the Spencer St stop at the corner of Bourke St with Spencer St Station in the background. Note the route and destination - at the time when North Balwyn and Burwood Routes were combined on Sundays am and evening - and passengers changed at Hawthorn Bridge. Route 74. Has a Fosters Lager advertisement. .2 - As above, tram approaching the stop with the Spencer St station car park in the background. .3 - tram 1005 leaving the Bourke St terminus, taken after .4 .4 - tram 1005 at the Bourke St terminus with tram 838 crossing in the background, has the Station building, Carlyon's Hotel and the Tramways Building. Note the Bundy clock, tram stop signage and safety zone. Route 96. The grey box by the Bundy Clock is thought to be a correspondence box for the satchels that were transported between the depots and head office. Dated 2013. .2 - Drop in DL card - for general update on Nicholson St between Kay Street and Fitzroy North and Brunswick Road. March 2019 .3 - 6 fold A3 to DL - "Route 96 is being upgraded so everyone can catch the tram" - shows the program and map for the provision of 9 stops and timeline. The later was not achieved. 2 copies held. .4 - 6 fold to DL, special size sheet - for the redevelopment of stop 125 Port Junction - shows the siding for the Tramcar Restaurant, and stop 124 at the world trade centre. Set of 7 typed, some bound foolscap documents associated with the agreement with the promoter for the construction of the Essendon Tramway system during 1904. Only the top page has been imaged. .1 - 21 page (top page loose), "The Town of Essendon and The Borough of Flemington and Kensington with A. E. Morgans Esq Agreement" dated 26/9/1904, sets out routes, gauge, motive power, maximum speed, safety, tolls and charges, use, power house, default and various responsibilities. Last page has signature details. .2 - 8 pages bound with a clip, marked "A", dated 26/9/1904, Agreement of Delegation of Morgan's rights to the North Melbourne Electric Tramways and Lighting Co. Ltd. .3 - 15 page bound with a clip, marked "B" dated 26/9/1906, (1904?) agreement of Delegation of Morgan's rights for the transfer of order under Electric Light and Power Act 1896. Dated by the Governor Arthur Talbot 24/10/1904. .4 - 22 pages, bound with a clip, marked "C" copy of agreement annexed to the Deed of Covenant for the purposes of identification. .5 - 7 pages secured with a pin - "Extraction the Government Gazette May 11 1904 - Tramways in the Town of Essendon and Borough of Flemington and Kensington" .6 - approx. 30 pages cotton bound - copies of various Indentures and Covenants between the parties and approved by the Governor in Council. .7 - 9 pages, Deed of Covenant marked "D" between NMETL, A E Morgans, the City of Essendon and the City of Melbourne dated 21/6/1906, refers to the Tramway Act of 1890. Postcard - full colour, Divided back type of MMTB Bus 583 AEC Mk111 no 583 Reg : AT083 entered service 1953 body by Martin and King - two man crew, 41 seats. Notes from Rod Atkins 24/5/2019: Bound for : "Fisherman's Bend via Williamtown Road" on Spencer Street Bridge heading south. When: It's what is missing in the photo gives us a the clue. It after 1968 as the new Stock Exchange building at 357 Collins Street is completed. but before 1973 when the new MLC building was open at 303 Collins Street on corner of Elizabeth Street. But the "2" between the destination and route number boxes on bus tells us its after November 1970. Therefore I would date the post card photograph to around 1971-1972 and prior to the start of the third viaduct between Flinders St and Spencer St. Published by National View by Murfett Publishers Australia.
