Cyril Davidson (Grasshopper) was a vollunteer fire fighter who was heavily involved with both the Fire Brigade and the Royal Childrens Hospital Good Fiday appeal (RCH GFA). He passed away in 1993. Phillip Dresher (1823-1906), was born in Germany and emigrated to Ireland before coming to Australia in 1852. He was married to Margaret Cosgrove. After Phillip died his son John Thomas (1873-1919) took over the business. John Thomas was also a watchman for the fire brigade.black and white photograph. The Long Gully Fire Brigade was ready for action in October 1873. The operated from a depot near the Wesleyan school room and members had been supplied with uniforms. On the 3rd of October the brigade, led by Captain Phillpot, marched into the city to take possession of a fire engine supplied by Council.Copy of a newspaper article titled A gift for fire station.
