Harriett Wilson was the wife of William Wilson, an active member of and preacher with the Linton Methodist congregation. This is one of two photographs of Mrs Wilson in the collection. This one appears to have been taken earlier than the other. The other photograph is Registration no. 480 (Box 14, also Mounted photograph 21), and shows a somewhat older Mrs Wilson, although Mrs Wilson is wearing the same dress in both photographs. An inscription on the back of the photograph says that this photograph was given by Mrs Wilson to F. Bryant on December 16, 1890. Part of Old Lintonian collection ; No. 126. Photographs of Mr Wilson are also in the collection - see Registration nos. 45, 479 & 642. It is understood that Mrs Wilson was one of the first teachers at Linton State School. Dr Liam Hugh Wright was the first President of the RNZCOG, between 1982 and 1984.Head and shoulder portrait photograph of a man. The man is wearing an academic cap and gown, with a wide purple sash running around the collar of the gown. The man has grey hair, which is visible on the sides of his head, and is wearing a grey suit jacket, white shirt, and a tie with a dark coloured pattern beneath the robe. I set of vertical blinds is visible in the background. The photograph is framed in a dark coloured wooden frame with gold trim on the inner edge, surrounding the image. Handwritten text at top centre on the back of the frame reads 'MR LIAM WRIGHT/PRESIDENT RNZCOG'. A length of cord and two circular fittings have been attached to the back of the frame for hanging.

This medal was struck to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in London in 1929. The RCOG was founded by William Blair-Bell, who is said to have been largely responsible for the design of the College coat of arms and gowns, and to have contributed to the motto "Super Ardua".
