Set of 4 Vietnam Service Medals. Court mounted. Australian Active Service Medal. With Vietnam Bar. Vietnam Military Medal. Anniversary of National Service Medal. Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. With 1960 Bar.AASM. Has central star. with date 1945 - 1975. Vietnam Medal has HM Elizabeth 2nd on obverse with reverse showing mythological figure of the Greek God Hermes. Anniversary of National Service Medal surrounds wings beneath an anchor with crossed swords on obverse. The reverse shows the Southern Cross on spreading rays surrounded by a cog. Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal obverse shows a gold and white enamelled star with a green- red and gold centre motif. The ribbon is green with 3 white stripes. ... Medals ...John Thomas O'Bree enlisted in 20th reinforcements 22nd Batt AIF on 4.7.16. As a Stretcher Bearer he was awarded a "Military Medal on 4.10.18 during an attack at Estrees east of Peronne. He worked without rest for 24 hours bringing out wounded lying helpless under concentrated shell fire and machine guns. Hospitalised on 20.10.18 with Influenza. Discharged from the AIF on 27.10.19. He enlisted again during WW11 on 24.4.41 for home service in the CMF, served in various Garrison Bn’s Ordnance and Salvage depots and was discharged on 18.1.45.Medal set, court mounted, set of (5) re J.T O'Bree. 1. This is a photograph of three retired officers from the Royal Australian Survey Corps taken on Corps Day, at the School of Military Survey, Latchford Barracks, Bonegilla in July 1991. BRIG Don Macdonald AM served in the Australian Regular Army from 1st of January 1936 to 22nd of March 1967. He was the Director of the Survey Corps from January 1960 to March 1967. COL Macdonald was promoted to Brigadier before assuming the honorary position of Colonel Commandant of RA Svy from August 1967 to January 1973. LTCOL Bob Skitch served in the Australian Regular Army from 14th of February 1955 to 27th of February 1981. He was the CO of the Army Survey Regiment from 1976 to 1980. LT Leo Noel Fletcher MID served in the Australian Regular Army from 1st January 1938 to 14th November 1945. He was the NSW Surveyor General from 1965 to 1978.This is a photograph of three retired officers from the Royal Australian Survey Corps taken on Corps Day, at the School of Military Survey, Latchford Barracks, Bonegilla in July 1991.
