The Nunawading Community Hub has achieved a 5 Star Green rating by the Green Building Council of AustraliaThe Nunawading Community Hub has been built on the former site of the Nunawading Primary School and the historical building has been retained and refurbished featuring classrooms, meeting rooms, spaces for art, dance and counselling as well as communal kitchen facilities.

Noel Webster was mayor of the City of Nunawading from 1973 to 1974. He was a founding member of the Vermont High School council and a board member of Maroondah Hospital. He was involved in U3A and was a founding member of the Early Planning for Retirement Association. Jean Webster was the president of the Nunawading Historical Society and both assisted the resettlement of Cambodian migrants.
