This event took place on 3rd November, 1972 and was carried out by the then Minister for Tourism Murray Byrne M.L.C. In 1957 the two bodies separated and the Hospital and Charities Commission of Victoria received the document a 'Petition to Incorporate the After Care Hospital'The Melbourne District Nursing Society was founded in 1885 and in 1926 opened the After-Care Home. The Society then became the 'Melbourne District Nursing Society and After-Care Home' until 1935 when the word 'Home' was replaced b the word 'Hospital'. He was a minister in country Victoria and Ballarat and was chaplain of Scotch College from 1919 - 1926.
