Colour photograph of tram 33 terminating at the north end of Gardens Loop, Wendouree Parade, the first service tram to do so on Sat. 15 March 2003. The service was terminated at this point for some 6 weeks while Wendouree Parade was resurfaced and other track work done. Shows the temporary terminal arrangements, and the earth cable installed to protect the work site on the section insulator and earth stake alongside the pole. Tram 33 has the Eureka roofing tiles and SEC Briquettes roof advertisements and Twin Lakes sign on the drivers dash panel. The destination shown is Gardens via Sturt St. West. Yields information about the appearance of Geelong's trams in particular ex Melbourne J class trams after receipt in Geelong. This tram later became Ballarat No. 11.Black and white print from a Geoff Grant negative of a Geelong bogie tram entering Corio Terrace from the Geelong depot on 8/1/1956, while Pengelley 19 waits in the siding. One of a group of signs that were fitted into tramcars in Ballarat, giving instructions to passengers about prams, behaviour, smoking, fare payment, talking to the motorman, instructions or information to drivers etc. Yields information about the sign manufacture, demonstrates the type of signs provided in tramcars.Enamel sign, black capital letters and lines on white background, titled "Children's Carriages which fold compactly may be permitted on cars at conductors discretion and owner's risk". One of a number similar signs donated to the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society by the SEC following closure of the Ballarat Tramways system in 1971. Normally a L shaped key.T shaped steel piece, with a round top piece or handle with a rod that has been forged at the lower end to give a tapered square shape for use possibly in external doors on SECV Ballarat Trams - known as a square key. Yields information about a collision between a tram and motor vehicle at the Victoria St terminus and issues with the driver of the motor vehicle being fatigued and the effects of alcohol - see article written on Coroners inquests by Alan Bradley.Ten page copy, from scanned original of a Coroner's Inquest and proceedings into the death of Bernard John Bourke in Ballarat following a collision between a motor car driven by the deceased and SEC tram No. 12 at the Victoria St terminus on, 5/7/1963. The Coroners Inquest was held on 28/8//1963. The copy of the inquest from the Public Records Office Victoria - VPRS 24/P2, unit 62, file 1963/1399.
