Myles Birket Foster (1785-1861) established his business in London in 1829 and the business continued after his death. This bottle is dated at about 1890's. Virgoe and Sons Co. the agent for Foster products was situated on the corner of William and Lt Collins St., Melbourne.Glass bottle. Red and cream colour label. Virgoe. Son & Co. Melbourne sole agents in Victoria and Tasmania. Dublin extra stout first quality. M. B. Foster & Sons 27 Borrk St., Bond st. London. The bottle is full with cork. In very good condition. Charles John Glover (1881-1965) began his career driving a cordial cart for Mr Phillips. By 1906 he was operating in a partnership with Charles Runting as soft drink manufacturers in Chapel Street. This partnership was dissolved in 1907 and Glover continued alone.Glass bottle. Brown with black edges label: compound cordial at the top, and in pencil 15-20 yo old. underneath in an oval the trademark symbol of two bulls a coat of arms, a crown and a flag. Moonee Valley Cordial company was established in 1890 by John Dunne. In 1898 they produced Horonda, an alcohol free beer, based on the herb horehound. The business was sold in 1910.Green glass bottle. The bottle is empty but has a cork/lid in and silver foil covering.
