This is a CD of broadcast material from the procession of the Warrnambool Florado Festival in 1960. The Florado Festival was a week of festivities held in Warrnambool in the second week of March with the aim of advancing local art, culture, education and recreational activities. The Festivals were held in the 1950s and 60s.This CD is of some importance to researchers and others interested in the 1950s and 60s Florado festivals. There were a good example of the popularity in Australia of these types of festivals held during those decades. Robin Boyd was appointed Exhibits Architect for the Australian Pavilion at Expo ‘70 in Osaka and travelled to Osaka several times in 1969-1970. Boyd designed the innovative Space Tube, which had over 25 exhibition boxes, projecting from it. It was an attempt to draw away from Eltham and be more inclusive of the wider communities in Nillumbik.
