Yields information about the form and style of the early Geelong trams and in particular one of the cross bench trams.Black and white photograph, printed onto card (inkjet printer?) of the front of the Geelong depot soon after the opening of the tramway, four roads - 1915. Has trams 2, 8, 4 and 1 on front of the track and alongside is a small motor bus and a motorcycles. Each tram has a person vehicle in the front. Shows depot arrangements. Two copies held. Yields information about tram services and how timetables were printed using a clock face for use in Ballarat. Demonstrates timetable making.Thirty two page, white paper, saddle stapled booklet, titled "Electricity Supply Department - Ballarat Tramways - Official Time Table August 1937", Gives notes on the through routing of the tram service, how the clock style format works and that it operates from the Tramway Centre. Also details when extra services are run and times as specific points along the route. Page 29 detail the fares and charges, page 30 - luggage, page 28 gives travel information and rear cover advertises electricity usage. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented.Ticket - black ink on off white paper, denomination 3d, numbered E105305, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways. The ticket price is in orange ink while the ticket number itself is in black ink. The rear of the ticket is blank. Ticket is different to other 3d tickets, could have been printed earlier than these. Demonstrates the method of dispensing tickets by conductors, how the tickets could be arranged, during the last period of Ballarat Tramways - 1971 fare system. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented. Ticket wallet with a set of eight 1970's Ballarat tram tickets set up to represent a typical conductor's set of tickets. .1 - Sheet of leather, approx. 2mm thick, stained brown with four pockets formed on each side with another sheet of leather, stitched on all sides to form pockets to hold eight blocks of tickets. Dated Oct. 1906. Lists parts with images and prices. It was used to turn on or off the power to a tram. Ephemera - Ticket/s, Waller & Chester, Block of 100 tickets - 1/, Jan 2024
Ticket block headed Ballarat Vintage Tramway. On the rear in green ink are details of the Ballarat Tramway Museum, web address and that the organisation is a volunteer operated. The 100 tickets have been stapled onto a heavy cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a small cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. Ticket Numbers 191001 to 192100. The tickets are in the style of the former State Electricity Commission of Victoria tramway tickets. The 1/- tickets are used for Adult passengers, to save printing new tickets each time the fares changed. Commenced used end Jan. 1991. See Reg Item 5964 for the fourth run of the 1/- and 6d tickets and 1622 for the first run. Printed by Waller & Chester Ballarat Jan. 2024Demonstrates the Museums phasing out of tickets priced for the actual fare and conversion to a universal ticket that does not have to be changed for a fare increase.
