Book, Jones Griffiths, Philip, Vietnam Inc, 1971
Admidst all the rhetoric about 'saving Vietnam from the Communists' one fact is always conviently forgotten .... that Vietnam once had a Communist government. Furthermore, the peple chose it - on January 6, 1946, during the first ever allowed to the Vietnamese. It is obvious that this one fact completely negates America's stated purpose for being in Vietnam, because America can hardly claim to be helping the Vietnamese choose the kind of government they want when they made their choice years ago.Admidst all the rhetoric about 'saving Vietnam from the Communists' one fact is always conviently forgotten .... that Vietnam once had a Communist government. Document - Manuscript, Robin Boyd, Current Architecture, c. 1970
This text summarises the differences in architecture and proposes, unlike in other art forms, that architecture has a mainstream which has consistency in it, yet is also ever changing. The term 'modern architecture' is becoming suspect and obsolete. Visual art is inevitably involved with social evolution. It discusses utilitarian and creative architecture. Boyd proposes architecture is between science and art, and that architecture by itself means the architecture of this age.Typewritten, quarto, 11 pages (Note: Mentions the 1960s, possibly implying it was written late 1960s-1970/1971)modern architecture, social evolution, utilitarian architecture, creative architecture, mcluhan era, glutternberg era, henry russell hitchcock, paul rudolph, philip johnson, kenzo tange, archigram, sydney opera house, reston, robin boyd, manuscript -

Article - Book review, Philip Johnson, The Puzzle of Architecture, Jun-66
This is a comprehensive and erudite review of Robin Boyd's book 'The Puzzle of Architecture' in a leading architectural journal. Robin Boyd’s desk cupboard contained two exercise books (item D482.1-D482.2) and assorted articles, essays and other material regarding the building of the Sydney Opera House, inserted inside the front cover of Walkabout magazine, July 1966 (item P1377). This publication is one of those inserts. Many of these were collected by Boyd’s eldest daughter, Mandie, who recalls that her father was writing a book, but was very disillusioned with the way the entire Opera House saga unfolded. A reprint from The Architectural Forum pp 72-73 and 93.walsh st library -
