On Kodacolor paper with a Kodak red ink stamp on rear. Tram has dash canopy lights, but no large white strip under the drivers windows. Photo not dated but appears to be at about the same time as 977, 21.11.1962. Has Eaglehawk Town Hall and Post office in background and shops along the south side of High St. Tram showing destination of "Eaglehawk". Tram has White Horse Whiskey ad and another on front dash panel and two roof ads. SEC Tram 17 and a former bus used as a food vendor stand, that has finished up in the front of S.E. Dickins Pty Ltd. (Grocers) store 1/10/1949. The tram derailed at the intersection of Sturt and Grenville St. collided with the bus and pushed it into the front of the store. Many people standing around the incident, including two trammies in front of the tram. Thought to be a Ballarat Courier Photograph. Wal Jack's caption advises the Bedford van was a doughnut kitchen. 1020.1 - added 3/06/2006 - small newspaper cutting with the same photo and a caption "While the driver was picking up lunch at Ashkar's pie shop, his tram ploughed into Dickin's grocery, on the present site of Norwich Plaza". Probably from The Courier, and date unknown. 1020.3 - as for 1020, from the Jack Richardson Collection with Wal Jack comments on rear. Comments on rear - see btm1020i4. Note a Conductor can be seen walking across from the SEC offices to the tram. Date of photo on folder - 11/6/1960. Yields information about one of the first two maximum traction bogie trams in Ballarat in October 1945 after it had been repainted for use in Ballarat by the SEC and a little photographed single truck tram No. 24. No 15 has the destination of Mt Pleasant. Two ladies are sitting on a seat with Reid's mens wear shop in the background. Two other ladies are walking in front of the trams. Printed colour postcard titled "City Hall and Shoppers Square Ballarat". Has an inbound tram showing the Grenville St sign on the rear, and one of the crossbench cars loading passengers outside the Town Hall. Shows Snows building, people in the median strip - busy holiday or a Sunday. Images of the front and back of the card and a close-up of the two trams in the bottom left-hand corner. Note the lamp or coloured destination sign on the roof of the inbound tram. On the rear, the postcard has been divided into two with the words "Post Card" and "Printed in Great Britain" on the top, a "Valentine Series" on the side. Addressed to Miss J Johnstone, 30 Weighbridge St, Flemington, and with the words "Dear Jeannie, / How do you like this one. / Maggie". Yields information about the dispatch of MMTB C class tramcars to the SEC Provincial tramways and the order that they were transported in.Hand written list on ruled paper titled "Ex MMTB C class bogies to SEC", giving list of nine tramcars to Ballarat, Bendigo or Geelong in the period April to June 1951, provides tram car number, date left Melbourne, to which city and Melbourne mileage. Tram has a roof advert for Bendigo Timber Co. Masonite and a Cohn's Drink ad on the front of the tram. In the background are roof advert for Mobilgas on the Beehive Building, Ezywalkin building, A. G. Treloar Optician and Evlyn Amer? shop for Infants Girls and Ladies Wear. There is a large number of Holden motor cars in the photos along with bicycles parked by the Ezywalkin shop.
