Ryan, informing that he has been selected in the Essendon 18 to play the Elwood 23 the following Saturday, telling him to meet at the Bush Inn at 1.45pm and reminding him to bring his team uniform.The postcard is significant because it illustrates the formal way in which players were informed of their selection in the team.
