Shows Eltham Stock and Poultry Feed Store. Site of current Le Pine Funeral Home In February 1968 an unknown person took a series of photos from the Eltham Hotel at Pitt Street heading north along Main Road through the shopping centre to just north of Elsa Court covering the length of the section of Main Road which was duplicated shortly thereafter. Shows the condition and environment of the streesscape of Main Road, Eltham immediately prior to the duplication between Pitt Street and Elsa Court through the shopping centre. Dedication of Eltham War Memorial by His Exc. the Governor of Vic., General Sir Dallas Brooks, K.C.B., C.M.G., D.S.O., K.StJ., on Friday 16th November, 1951Function held in Kangaroo Ground Community Hall following Sir Dallas Brooks, Victorian Governor's task of dedication at War Memorial Park. Names of WW2 fallen and Caretaker's Cottage. Original 1927 cottage still in place.Red hard bound binder, 2-ring holder; 18 grey coloured page inserts (3 blank) with 7 photos. Two pages of text in white paint. Also includes inserted leaves of manila card with photocopies of relevant news clippings pasted to card. Probably the 1924 flood which damaged the Main Road Bridge Pages from a scrapbook belonging to Heather Jenkins (nee Sargeant) who lived as a child in the Police Residence at 728 Main Road, Eltham in the 1920s.Heather Sargeant was the daughter of Constable W.C. Sargeant, the local police officer in residence at Eltham, 1922-1927Glued on a brown paper scrapbook page (torn from scrapbook) with 8 black and white/sepia photos of varying sizes, 1 newspaper clipping and one greeting card with printed sketch and handwritten captions in ink.
