The item looks at the overall outcomes of the study and who funded it. See image No. 1. Text written by Alex Easton. 2241.2 - page 6 of The Courier, which joins with page 7 using the titled "Romantic image captures the city's imagination" reviewing reactions to the proposals from various politicians, business and community groups. Includes comments from Judy Verlin, former Mayor and impacts on traffic and parking issues. Also summarises in a Section "At a Glance" the pros and cons of the proposal. Two SEC 4c tickets, light red printing on off white paper, Nos. A557978 and A557979 with portion of tickets missing. See image for one of these tickets. On rear of tickets is a printed diagonal pattern. Handwritten note to Warren Doubleday from Dave Macartney on a piece of ARHS Vic. Div. news sheet explains the origin of these tickets - found blocking the north east sander on tram 18 on 25 April 2000. Cutting from the "For the Record" section of The Courier, Ballarat's weekend magazine of Saturday August 12, 1995 about the location of Ballarat's first set of traffic lights. Were at the corners Mair St. with the intersection of Doveton, Armstrong and Lydiard Streets. The latter had trams at the time. They became operational about May 1970. Generally understood not installed at other streets at the times because of the complexity of the tramway system and its impending closure.
