Artillery cartridge case from an 18 pounder field gun. This used brass case is the Mark ll type, manufactured in 1918. The 18 PDR was the main field artillery armament of the British and Commonwealth forces during WW 1. -

Set of four service medals issued to Australian Army serviceman James Marshall, VX103257, Lance Corporal, 3rd Australian Division Signals, 2nd AIF who served in Bouganville during World War 2. Set consists of the Australian Service Medal 1939-1945, the War Medal 1939-1945, the 1939-1945 Star and the Pacific Star, all medals are complete with ribbons and have been mounted on a common bar for attachment to the wearer's clothing. -

Medal Set (set of 3) World War 1
Set of three service medals issued to Australian Army serviceman Thomas Patrick Flood, number 3757, Private, 8th Battalion, 1st AIF who served during World War 1. Set consists of the 1914-1915 star, the British War Medal and the Allied Victory Medal, these medals are complete with original ribbons and are unmounted. A small cardboard box addressed to the recipient is enclosed. Presumably this box was originally used to deliver one of the medals by mail. -

Small cardboard packet containing 10 glass Ampoules of Ammonia Inhalant Solution (Aromatic). These were for field use and intended to be used as 'smelling salts'. These were carried by a RAN rating during the Vietnam conflict. The rear side of the cardboard packet has instructions and an illustration showing how the inhalant is to be administered.The front side of the cardboard packet has the following printing in black ink: "FSN 6505-106-0875" "AMMONIA INHALANT SOLUTION, AROMATIC, Ampuls, 1/3 cc." Square hinged box inscribed on lid 'Anzac Commemoration 1926'. The box is covered with a thin, black leather-like material. The box is lined with cloth. The lower section of the box is lined with a mid-blue cloth which is imprinted, in silver, with the map of Australia in which five English farthings have been set. The coins are in the formation of the Southern Cross with a silver star shape around each farthing. The underside of the box lid has dark blue gathered satin lining. The coins are in uncirculated condition and are loose. The box is damaged.The box is inscibed in gold lettering with the following: "Anzac Commemoration 1926" -

Set of two black and white photographs of the Victorian RSL Peninsula Ex-Servicewomens Sub Branch marching in a ceremonial march past. The photographs were taken Sunday, 9th, November, 1997. Other women's ex-para military units can be seen in the photograph indicating that it was most likely a march to commemorate Remembrance Day.One photograph is inscribed on the rear with the following: "Peninsula Ex Service Womens Reunion 9 Nov 97" -

A small flag taken from an Indonesian Sergeant during the Malaysian Indonesian 'confrontation' in 1965. The flag was taken by an Australian, N Lloyd. The flag is a small banner style with tapes on the masthead side for attachment. The flag is made from a linen material. The uper half of the flag is red and the lower half white. There are three, five pointed, white stars on the right hand half of the flag. -

WW2 identification tag made of aluminium. This identification tag belonged to Private Roy Milton Blood, service number VX145207, 2/12th Australian Infantry Battalion, 2nd AIF. Blood enlisted in Dubbo, NSW on the 29th September, 1943 and was discharged on 19h February, 1947. -

An old Curtis's and Harvey's Gunpowder flask. The flask is made of red painted metal (possibly tin). The cap is missing from the flask. This is marked with an additional label indicating that it was distributed by the Victorian agents, McMicking and Co (?). -

Small booklet produced by the Australian Comforts Fund, Victorian Division, with instructions for knitting twelve different woollen items of clothing intended for defence personnel on active service. The booklet is dated July, 1941 and has twenty pages.The booklet front page has the following text: "AUSTRALIAN COMFORTS FUND", "Victorian Division", "Guide to Knitting" and a list of the twelve items that are included. The "A.C.F." symbol is featured in a red, six pointed star. -

Book, Readings and Prayers for Members of ARMY WOMEN'S SERVICES
Pocket book size with thick, buff, paper cover imprinted with red lettering and the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces badge. Example of the Readings and Prayers book that is issued to Australian Army Women's Services personnel during World War 2 by the Australian Army Chaplains' Department. The book has 176 pages of suggested readings and prayers for a variety of different occasions. The book was produced ca 1944.The book front cover is printed with the following text in deep red: "Readings and Prayers for Members of ARMY WOMEN'S SERVICES", "Issued by the Australian Army Chaplains' Department". There is an Australian Commonwealth Military Forces badge at the top of the page and an Australian Army Chaplains' badge at the bottom. The book has the reference number "A.A.B. 35". -

Set, Spoons
Presentation box containing a set of three silver spoons presented to Doctor J F Akeroyd by the Frankston Branch of the R.S.S.&A.I.L.A. These spoons are labelled the "LEADSWINGER TROPHY" and were presented by the golf section of the club on the 13th June, 1955. The set consists of a silver jam spoon with the depiction of a golfer in enamel, and two sugar spoons with the depiction of crossed rifles and a target in enamel. The box is covered in a blue leather material and is lined with white silk. There is a brss clip to close the box. -

Booklet, Lest We Forget
A commemorative booklet about the role of nurses, in particular the nurses of the Australian Army Nursing Service, during WW2. The booklet has a light cardboard cover of buff colour and contains 28 pages. This booklet was published as a fund raiser for the "Centaur" War Nurses Memorial Fund.The booklet is entitled "Lest We Forget" and has the Red Cross symbol surrounded by an olive wreath printed, in colour, on the cover. There is an image of the hospital ship Centaur superimposed on the Red Cross symbol. Beneath the wreath there are the words ""CENTAUR" MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP". The words "AUSTRALIAN ARMY NURSING SERVICE" are printed across the bottom of the cover page and the price was 2/-. -

WW2 identification tag made of aluminium. This identification tag belonged to Driver Dorothy Margaret Fullerton, service number VF515848, of the Australian Womens Army Service. Fullerton enlisted in Melbourne, Victoria on the 3rd May, 1944 and was discharged on 26th February, 1946. -
