The brooch belonged to the donor's grandmother Lucy Stafford, who was born in 1878Gilt metal brooch, has two flowers, a bud and two leaves. The flowers are pale pink with a mauve glass centre. The name " Balmain " has been attributed to the photo, James Balmain and his wife, Amy Sophia [D'Alton} purchased a vacant school cottage from the area and moved it to their land and called it Bellfield.
