Between 8th and 10th June there were celebrations in England celebrating the first anniversary of the end of WWII. Similar celebrations were held in Australian towns and cities.Pennant produced for the Victory Day Celebrations, June 10th, 1946. This triangular pennant is made from a dark blue wool felt cloth with two loops attached to the fly. The pennant is marked with insignia and wording associated with the first anniversary 'V' day celebrations in 1946.Inscribed with a large, white letter V with "victory" in side and in red lettering, surrounded by a "laurel" wreath. Vietnam era SLR maintenance and cleaning kit in a green canvas holdall. It has a waxed coating, including the ties. The kit includes a pull through, a brush, a phial of oil and a metal adjustment tool. Each item is stored in its own individual pocket. (see also item 00092).

A medallion presented to Private A. C. Hill by the citizens of Frankston, Victoria. These medallions were presented to local men who enlisted for service as they departed to World War 1 by the "Citizens and Patriotic Committee". The medallion has a gold finish and has an olive wreath around the circumference. A small loop is provided to attach the medallion to a chain or similar. In this case the medallion is attached to a fob watch chain commonly worn by men when dressed in a jacket. (refer item 00325).One side of the medallion is inscribed: "A. Hill" "From the citizens of Frankston" and the other is inscribed "A. I. F."

The collection features a set of three medals as the centrepiece which were awarded to an Australian serviceman, Acting Warrant Officer Alwin Stevens Nicholas, service number 4752 of the 3rd Australian General Hospital, Australian Medical Corp, A.I.F. The metal badges and insignia are mounted on a black felt cloth background over a wooden backing and housed in a wooden frame. Left over after assembly- When the bell was destroyed by fire at Williamstown Football Pavilion. After taken off the ship the bell was used for sounding the quarters in Football matches at a young gardener who worked on the grounds of the Football oval was apparently sacked and then decided he would take out his revenge on the football club.
