Titled "The Victorian State System of Electricity and Fuel Supply", with subsidiary title "Its Objectives and Progress". Dated January 1938. Produced by the State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Sets out the constitution and objects of Victorian State Power system, notes Act of Parliament of 1918, Yallourn, Newport B, Richmond, Ballarat and Geelong Power stations, Sugarloaf - Rubicon Hydro electric stations. Other subjects are Rural Electrification, system growth, tariffs, and financial stability, Kiewa, and future planning. Samizone flat file, made from manila card with blue printing for file details and a Dymo machine label on the spine (red background with white printing) titled "Ballarat SEC History". On inside of folder is a "Post It" note with handwriting "Robert Ashley Ex Employee" in blue ink. Contained within folder is" 1. "Ballarat, Electricity and the State Electricity Commission" photocopied from an original. Has typed under the heading over white out correction fluid "Notes - Draft notes prepared by Robert W. P. Ashley 1989." The paper gives the history of power supply in Ballarat, including street lighting, ESCo, AC and DC power supplies, the takeover by the SEC, Ballarat A and B power stations, a copy of an advertisement for the SEC in Ballarat. Photocopied onto foolscap paper of an extract from possibly a large report on power supply in Victoria. Pages 155 to 158. Set of 8 black and white photographs of the SEC Ballarat track welding truck, Reg. No. 119 341. Truck is a British Bedford truck, model WHG, built by GMH Melbourne between 1932 and 1934. Has a fabric roof, chassis fitted with a tray top body, side tool box, metal frame and covered with canvas, fitted out with a motor generator set, welding equipment and oxy acetylene bottles. Yields information about Ballarat No. 30, in the 1950's - SEC Official photograph.1708 - Black and white photograph of a Ballarat Sebastopol type tramcar when built new in 1913. Photo used in Keith Kings book, "The Ballarat Tramways" on page 28. Understood to be an ESCo photograph. Tram has "Suttons for Gramophones" roof advertisement, words "Ballarat Tramways" on the top rail above windows and "Coliseum Photoplays"in central window. Two of the four side blinds are in the down position, probably done to show their presence. Tram has a "bulls-eye" type destination indicator. Photographed outside the depot with Lake Wendouree in the background. Photograph is a photo of another print, with the words?
