A3 size photo copy enlargement of a photograph of an ESCo tramcar on a property near Ballarat. Was printed in the Souvenir Supplement Issue of the closure of the Ballarat Tramways - see Reg item 269. The caption for the photograph in this article gave the tram number as No. 16. Was made for the first depot display board on ESCo No. 12, c Nov. 1993 from newspaper cutting loaned by Alan Bradley. Was used in an item in The Courier Ballarat, 19/1/1993 requesting information on the location of the tramcar, following an enquiry from the BTPS.trams, tramways, esco, scrapped trams -

Photocopy of an article concerning the fate of a Ballarat tram after its return to Geelong and storage in open weather. The tram was in poor condition. BTPS did inspect but did not have the room to store and its poor condition went against recovery. Subsequently acquired by the TMSV and since sold?Photocopy of an article on an A4 sheet from the Geelong Advertiser dated 23-2-1985, titled "The elements a threat to historic tram". Article by David Fitzsimons about the poor condition of the body of Geelong tram No. 40 in Queens Park Newtown. Gives a short history of the tram, including its time in Ballarat as No. 43. Quotes Dr. David Ellerton who reported on the situation, Mr Tom Wilson, City Engineer of Newtown. Has a photo of the tram in Queens Park. One of a number of this type of tram still in working order in Australian tramway museums. Has no motors. Interior one of the few given a paint finish by SEC, others are varnished. Has timber panelled sides.Single truck (4 wheels), drop ends, modified open California combination to closed car, with 4 doors, 2 at either end, longitudinal seats, sliding internal doors, air brakes. - electric motors removed.
