Photos during Badge Week in September 2005. Some widows at their craft stall outside Legacy House. The widows clubs ran fundraising stalls during Badge Week for many years. Widows met regularly at Legacy House for craft sessions. Some of the items the Widows produced were entered into an annual craft contest and exhibition. According to the school magazine 'The Minervan December 1954' the book was compiled to honour former students who were members of the forces in World War II. See file attached. The book was displayed in the ballarat College reception area until 2014. In 2013 following research by James Affleck the information contained within the book was updated and a formal honour board created and displayed in Memorial Hall together with the WW2 Pro Patria Roll of Honour. Charles Leslie Mitton (1905-1968) was a pharmacist at 131 Union Road, Surrey Hills from 1933-1968. DOD 30/04/1968. Prior to coming to Surrey Hills, he was a pharmacist in Newmarket (Ref: 1931 electoral roll). He and his wife, Ethel Sylvia Elizabeth Mitton (nee Stevenson) lived at 65 Union Road. They were married in 1933 and had 2 sons and a daughter. He was followed in the business by his son John and daughter Rosalind. The paper is yellowed and stained along the top edge. It is generally grubby. It appears to have been framed at some stage but not for some time. It has been folded in four. These books were added to the library of the School of Mines Ballaarat in 1889.
