Four Legacy widows from the Caulfield Legacy Widows Club. Keesing Photographers took a series of photos on the same day of various ladies and some were committee members at different clubs. Presumably there had a been a meeting at Legacy House of members from the many clubs (including Hampton, Highett, Caufield). Pg 3 could mean the photo was used in an issue of The Answer. It is assumed that the date was 1991 due to the reference number from the photographic studio 911030A-28 could mean 30 October 1991, along with 00645, 00646, 00647, 00648, 00649, 00650. This cookbook was compiled by the Neale Street North Pre School Mothers' Club Committee with the forward written by Anne Galvin O.B.E, President of the Bendigo & District Pre-school Association. Anne Galvin was one of Bendigo's best known charity workers and she used her first speech as Mayoress (1944) to indicate her intentions to assist mothers and children. This recipe book includes contributions by the Mayoress of the day (Mayoress Rae), Television Hostesses Corinne Kirby and Ruth Nye and Mrs Bolte and Lady Brooks. Illustrator of front cover unknown.Bound and printed cookbook containing one hundred and eight pages of recipes and advertisements including forward written by Anne E. Galvin. Held at the office of the Association for the Blind, these minutes contain information on attendees, meeting chair, apologies, minutes acceptance, matters arising from the minutes, accounts, reports, matters arising from reports, Life Governors, general business and the date of the next meeting. This included the appointment of Reverend A. Wilkins to staff (p.19), the stained glass windows in the Chapel being dedicated as a memorial to the eight founding members (p.41) and switching on of the Guiding Light at Brighton by Mr Bruce Small (p.88). Each sheet within the report has rounded edges. Contained within a printed cardboard packing case. Includes many tables, graphs, charts and coloured sheets. Report prepared by The Metropolitan Transportation Committee - 1969, looking at the planning of all forms of transport for Melbourne with a timeframe of 1985. Chaired by Vernon Wilcox, Minister of Transport. Included Robert Risson - Chairman of MMTB. Set the basis for a very extensive freeway system that was only partly followed. Notes from Joh Ebeli to the Society Committee meeting regarding plans for the use of horse drawn vehicles in the Society's entry for the 1980 parade, including whether Jock Read who opened the 1979 Parade could be asked to participate. Other notes included references to his salvaging (along with a couple of others) of the facade of the Old Bakery and plans to see if it could be incorporated into a new large room to be built at the Eltham Living and Learning Centre and following up Council. At the front of the minutes is an index of names for some of the people referred to in the minutes of the Finance/Executive Commitees, with relevant page numbers. Held at the office of the Association for the Advancement of the Blind, these minutes contain information on bank balances, correspondence received and replied to, receipts expenditure, accounts and other business discussed. Bob Hymans Collection Bob (Herman) Hymans (a former member of the Royal Netherlands Navy) was born in Bloemendaal, Holland on 30th September 1922. During World War II he fought against the Japanese in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) and was imprisoned in Changi and on the Burma Railway. After gaining qualifications as a Ski Instructor, Bob arrived in Falls Creek in July 1950. Working as an Instructor and Supervisor at Bogong Lodge, Bob decided his future was in accommodation. He was successful in negotiating an indenture for land from the State Electricity Commission (SEC). It took Bob two years to build his Grand Coeur Chalet but, tragically, it was burned down in August 1961. Bob also built the first Chairlift in Australia. This was a single chairlift and the structure was built from wooden electricity poles. He was constantly full of new ideas and proposals for the village. Bob Hymans died on 7th July 2007. This Collection of documents and letters tells the story of Bob's endeavours to develop Falls Creek into the ski village it is today.This letter is significant because it documents the procedures followed to appoint new members of the Management Committee.A notice from the Management Committee dated the 9th February 1961. The Adult Deaf and Dumb Mission of Victoria, now known as Vicdeaf, (the Victorian Deaf Society), was founded in 1884 as the Victorian Society for Promoting the Spiritual and Temporal Welfare of the Adult Deaf and Dumb. The provisional committee being Mr W Bates, Mr J M Bruce, Mr J D Gowan, Mr Edwin Newbiggin, Mr C M Officer, M. L, A., and the Rev. W. Moss. The Adult Deaf and Dumb Mission's objects were: 1.
