Advising that the Nunawading Council is in the final stages of aquiring the historic and last remaining orchard in the municipality as a bicentenial project. This item was used as a general purpose cart on the Livermore Orchard in Vermont and was donated by Mr. Livermore when the orchard was sold for housing development.|In the 1840's a vehicle known as a springcart, chaise cart, and family cart was the choice of colonist who needed to travel from town to town. In the late 1940s the southern part of Bellbird Dell was untouched virgin bush. From the North the dell was worked by Cecil Rhodes whose father Victor owned the orchards and a cool store on land opposite the Vermont High School. Cecil worked the orchards between the creek and Alorak Road.
