Left over after assembly- When the bell was destroyed by fire at Williamstown Football Pavilion. After taken off the ship the bell was used for sounding the quarters in Football matches at a young gardener who worked on the grounds of the Football oval was apparently sacked and then decided he would take out his revenge on the football club. So he got drunnk, went back to the ground and set the building on fire.A fragment of the ships bell. -

This instrument was used by Dr Fritz Duras (1896-1965), who moved to Australia from Germany in 1937. As his father was Jewish, Duras was forced to leave Germany, and came to Australia to take up a post as director of physical education at Melbourne University. This instrument was part of a collection of instruments given to his son-in-law, Dr Michael Kloss, who was an obstetrician. Dr Kloss donated these items to the College. Metal needle holder. The needle holder's overall shape is that of a teardrop, with a rounded handle section narrowing to serrated grip points at one end. This self-portrait exemplifies Karl and Slawa's shared interest in the art forms of other cultures - also seen in the significant number of Viennese art books on these topics in the Duldig Studio library. It takes inspiration from Egyptian sculptures and is strikingly similar to the cover image of Götter Ӓgyptens (Gods of Egypt) by Alexander Scharff (Library) although her short hair puts a stylish and very modern slant upon the image. Issued to Service Personal whilst on active service to render first aid if required.Unopened rectangle packet covered in off-white cotton (or similar) containing a bandage and gauze pad. The front of the package is printed with an inscription identifying it as a 'First Field Dressing' along with a list of contents and instructions for use in blue writing. Text crossed with diagonal red arrow from bottom right hand side pointing to top left corner. FIRST FIELD DRESSING Tear apart the uncemented corner as indicated by the arrow and remove the paper. Take the folded ends of the bandage in each hand, and, keeping the bandage taut, apply the gauze pad to the wound and fix the bandage. In case of head wounds when respirators have to be worn, care should be taken to adjust the pad so that it does not interfere with the fit of the face piece. To be placed on record which I think is very desirable & as I am the ony living man that can do so, I will be very please to do so now, before I get into my dotage. I was one of the first students - when it was established by the Art-Gallery & was for 7 years the first and only assistant master - under Mr Carew-Smyth leaving for 5 years to take charge of the Sale Techl Art School for 5 years to take charge of Art School Ballarat, until my retirement in 1940. I think the history of the School will be a valuable & interesting record. I was responsible for getting the present building & the plan initiated by me was adopted and carried out by Col Watson of the Public Works Dept.
