Clothing. A ''shirt-maker'' styled ladies long-sleeved dress, with 4 mm, red/navy striped fabric. The ''straight-through'' dress has a tie-belt, 2cm wide if desired. Long 3/4 set-in sleeves are gathered into a ''turn-back'' cuff 6.5 cms wide, and fastened by two x 1.5 cm covered buttons,and two false stitched button holes. 'Skin, Surfaces and Shadows' was created by Tommaso Durante in 2004 during his stay in Bundanon (gifted to the Australian people by Arthur & Yvonne Boyd - South East Australia) as international artist in residence and it was enriched during the artist’s stay in Broome (Western Australia) in 2005. On that occasion he collected the raw materials that were subsequently wrought to develop the actual bookwork.On the edge of artistic practice and philosophical inspiration, 'Skin, Surfaces and Shadows' pushes the boundaries of art, craft and design by combining digital technologies with traditional techniques and materials. Durante visually explores the surfaces of organic things (trees, surface textures, etc.) and the figurative dividing line of the shadow. The poet Wallace-Crabbe responds to these images in words. Small envelope which contained three original photos and three postcards, donated to the society by founding member Helen Gibson c.1993. Envelope is pre-paid from the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria, Inc. Handwritten on it are 1. 'X10', written by Marian Matta while organising photos for cataloguing; 2. 'for Helen Gibson', presumably written by Gwen Thomas'; and 3. 'From Gwen Thomas – originally from Miss Field. Gwen also has a set of School Magazines – 1928. Set of eight colour photos showing the interior of the Original St Martins Church Hall after being moved to Belgrave Heights and renovated by the Shire of Yarra Ranges to become the premises of Southern Sherbrooke Historical Society. Dickins Store, Bridge St Ballarat.Set of four images of photographs (two each same, different exposure) of Black and white photographs of SEC Tram 17 and a former bus used a food vendors stand, that have finished up in the front of S.E. Dickins Pty Ltd. (Grocers) store c1949. The tram derailed at the intersection of Sturt and Grenville St. collided with the bus and pushed it into the front of the store.
