Quilt called "Diversions" and made by Barbara Macey in Melbourne in 1985. Barbara Macey is a founding member of the Running Stitch group and its sole remaining member. This quilt was part of a touring exhibition called "Wool Quilts Old and New" presented by Running Stitch, 31 Jan. 1986 to Feb. 1987. It was catalogue entry no. 6. The artist's statement reads: "Being of Scottish descent, I was most interested to discover the Scottish Herringbone quilt, made of pieces of wool tweed, sewn herringbone fashion, to strips of fabric later seamed together to make a quilt. Having a variety of wool fabrics to work with inspired this interpretation of a traditional idea." This seminar was organized by a committee as part of Victoria's 150th anniversary celebrations. It was published by the Dept. of Agriculture for East Gippsland Primary Industry Committee in 1985. Victoria's 150th anniversary was celebrated in 1984-1985. A 136 pp book with a black spine and a white cover. On the cover in black print is a logo created for the sesquicentenary of Melbourne and Victoria. Underneath the logo is VICTORIA 150 and Growing Together 1984-85. The book contains the records of the seminar, "Farming in East Gippsland - Past, Present and Future". At the bottom of this page is "Bairnsdale May 1 1985. This set of 20 photographs were taken at a CO’s parade at the Army Survey Regiment, Bendigo in 1985. CO LTCOL Jorge Gruszka presented the Defence Force Service Medal to personnel in recognition of 15 years of efficient remunerated service, or the Clasp for 5 years of additional service. WO2 Russ Larsen’s Warrant was also presented at the parade. This is a set of 20 photographs of a CO’s parade and the presentation of the Defence Force Service Medal, at the Army Survey Regiment, Bendigo in April 1985.
