The Hume Street Improvement Committee was one of several 'progress associations' in the Greensborough area at the time the area was being urbanised. A typed page explains the concerns of residents when the street was being paved. The Greensborough Methodist Church stood in Main Street Greensborough and was central to the social life of the suburb in the early 20th century. This original site is now part of the Greensborough Plaza shopping complex. The Church moved to the new building in Grimshaw Street circa 1970s.
