Alan Money and Jeannie James started the Muse, an intimate theatre in Prahran in the 1950s, and a children's theatre. They lived in Kangaroo Ground, where Neil Douglas visited where they were burnt out in 1962. They found a house in Eltham by Margo Knox. Jeannie James was exhibiting paintings at Montsalvat.
