Tom Bentley (1912-1993) was born in Lancashire (UK). From circa 1951, he was the Overseer/Superintendent of Outdoor Works for Kew City Council. Until his retirement in the 1970s, he was based at the Kew Council Depot, located in the former MTB Horse Tram Depot on the corner of Disraeli and High Streets, Kew. Accompanying the set of twelve photographs is a 12-page illustrated biography of the Bentley and Plumridge families, separately kept in the 'Bentley' subject file.Duplicate black and white positive print photograph of road works in Studley Park Road, Kew, carried out under the supervision of Tom Bentley, Overseer/Superintendent of Outdoor Works for the City of Kew. Pamphlet commissioned by Council to promote and call for resident's comments on the Caulfield City Council's proposed Civic Centre by the 28th May 1976.Cream colour paper pamplet folded to create 4 panels with text and images printed in blue and orange ink on recto and verso of the four panels. The cover panel has "Caulfield City Council Civic Centre Concept" printed in orange with a blue copy of an artist's impression of the new Caulfield Centre and a blue representation of the City of Caulfield Coat of arms at the top. The demolition of the historic Box Hill Primary School is to go ahead following the failure of an appeal to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal to keep the National Trust classified primary school. City of Moorabbin was proclaimed 1934 and managed the areas of Cheltenham, Highett, Moorabbin, Bentleigh, East Bentleigh, East Brighton, McKinnon, Ormond until the Amalgamation of Councils in 1994. The City of Kingston then took over the area south of South Road while City of Glen Eira took the area to the north Kingston City Council possesses the original Mayoral Chain of former City of Moorabbin and it is displayed on the Moorabbin Mayoral Robe at KCC Office Cheltenham for the Annual Opening meeting of KCC in February . 2018 The Moorabbin Mayoral Robe was sent on 7 year loan to KCC for display at Cheltenham with the former City of Chelsea and former City of Mordialloc Mayoral Robes.Since the 1960s far-sighted community members have generously donated many significant items to the ‘Box Cottage’ museum, specifically to provide future generations with a fascinating, and tangible insight into day-to-day life from the 1800’s and up to the mid 1900's. Moorabbin City Council supported their efforts until the Amalgamation of Councils 1994. The presentation was from The Bendigo Council to the Northern Victorian Regiment - 38th Infantry Battalion in relation to it's 100th Anniversary of being formed. It was at the Queen Elizabeth Oval on 28th Aug 1958. 16 page white booklet. On front is the Bendigo City emblem, document titles, Regiment Emblem, Date and location. Booklet is a souvenir program.
