The notes mention the advantages of the single strand electrically welded barb wire over the ordinary twisted barb wire of two strands. Advantages include less weight in the fence and for freight, less stretching, barbs are at fight angles to the wire and rust does not attack the welded barb wire as it is not bent which can cause the galvanising to crack.
