He struck his head when a car pulled out in front of him at Exhibition Street. Risson said it was worst accident he had seen in 40 years. Appoints 5 man inquiry committee Tram W2 304 (City Route 6) was crossing Flinders Street when it was hit by tram W2 559 (Spencer St route 28) which failed to stop at the red light. Zilles Printers was begun by Lewis Zilles in the early 1930s. It was in McKenzie Street Ballarat. His son Jeffrey also became a printer - letterpress, offset and screen printer. The business became Zilles Printers/Graphics and was in Armstrong Street and later Bell Street Ballarat. Munro Engineers were pioneers in farming equipment since 1800s. Their main product was a range of fencing machinery. In 1963 they invented and produced the world's first tractor mounted, hydraulic post driver with digger. Advertising material preparations for Munro Engineering of Wendouree. Accompanying sheet reads, " 'Post 35' shows the scene from the foot bridge. The signalman is giving the staff to the driver of a dog box suburban train, from Bayswater because there is a train probably on arrival Croydon on the Croydon line. The right hand arm of the bracket is off for Bayswater. Post 35 at that time was a prefab structure which replaced the signal posts knocked down on 22/6/1945. The red brick building bottom right corner is the relay room which included devices which would probably have prevented the June 1945 accident". -

Thought to be the world's only working example of this engine. Used for driving overhead shafts in workshops, sawmills etc. Restored by members of the MVMM. Found at the Demsters property Shelbourne. Thought to be the only one of its kind in the world.Horizontal steam engine driving a flat belt pulley. Pulley shaft at right angles to engine shaft also carries a large flywheel. A mechanical oiler mounted on the engine base is activated by the engine valve shaft. Engine cylinder and valve housing painted dark green. Engine base, pulley and flywheel painted maroon.
